What’s happening for things to do in the Lakeland this August? If you’re into Country and Western culture then August is the perfect time to visit the Lakeland. Many towns and villages are holding rodeos, chuckwagon races, country fairs and stampedes to celebrate our rural roots.

 

Lakeland Country Fair & Rodeo, August 4 to 5: The Lac La Biche Ag Society is hosting the Lakeland Country Fair & Rodeo. We added some exciting new events and brought back your faves! The Lakeland Country Fair is a laid back family-orientated, country feel kind of celebration where rural meets urban in a county party!

 

Victoria Trail Agricultural Society Fair Days, August 11 to 13: includes a horse show, pancake breakfasts, BBQ supper, bench show,slow-pitch tournament, parade, bouncy houses for children and much more.

 

Smoky Lake Stampede, August 5 to 6: The 36th annual Smoky Lake Stampede offers two full days of exciting rodeo action. Celebrations include a parade, pancake breakfast, fireworks and so much more!

 

Kikino Celebration Days & Silver Birch Rodeo, August 11 to 13:  A summer classic including chuck wagon & chariot races, rodeo performances,  talent show, midway rides, kid’s activities, bingo, nightly steak suppers & jamborees. It wraps up with fireworks over Whitefish Lake. Be sure to book your campsite or cabin well in advance.

 

Two Hills Rodeo, August 12 to 13: Two Hills Rodeo is one wild stop on the Rodeo Trail! Aside from all seven thrilling rodeo events, there’s also pancake breakfasts, a horse show and beer gardens.

 

Mundare Agri Daze, August 18 to 20: Celebrating both the town of Mundare and its Ukranian heritage, the Mundare Agri Daze features a pancake breakfast, ball tournament, parade and Ukrainian dance.

 

Saddle Lake All Pro Chuckwagon & Chariot Races, August 25 to 27: The town of Saddle Lake hosts a stop on the Taste The Dust Pro Tour, with chuckwagon and chariot races alongside pro rodeo events.

 

Hylo & Venice Harvest Days, August 25 to 26: To celebrate the year’s harvest, the villages of Hylo and Venice will be hosting a horticultural show, potluck supper, pancake breakfasts and even a pig catch- if you catch the pig you can keep it!

 

Lakeland Rodeo Association Finals, August 31 to September 03: At the end of the rodeo season the St. Paul Agricultural Society hosts the Lakeland Rodeo Finals. There are five rodeo performances over four days, with pancake breakfasts, a chilli cook-off, Ukranian lunch, and barbeques!
